Dog Kennels - Different Styles to Choose From

!±8± Dog Kennels - Different Styles to Choose From

Using a dog kennel is a wonderful way of keeping your pet safe and protected in his own environment. Some dogs prefer to live indoors while others like being outdoors. A kennel is a great way for them to get exercise and move about in their own living space. Your pet will enjoy being outside with the scenery and fresh air. Just remember dog kennels aren't the only way to get exercise, your canine with still needed to be taken out for more extreme exercise because a dog pen is not big enough and limits their movements.

You have a choice to build your pet a nice dog kennel from building materials or buying one from a store. Most dog kennels are built from wood or steel type fencing. Your pen will need to be made very sturdy and be anchored to the ground to keep it from moving or getting knocked over.

Kennels come in multi-levels as well for extra space for supplies or other things. When choosing the multi-level one be sure you can keep your dog pen clean and sanitary at all times. Choosing a single level type is the easiest to keep clean. You may also consider buying a portable dog kennel, these are great for people who travel a lot and very easy to set and very lightweight to carry around.

Although these might be a costly investment, but it will be well worth it for both of you. Just to be able to put your canine in his dog pen while you do whatever you need to do and know he is safe is a good feeling. You won't be worried about other animals or him running away and getting hit by a car, he will be safe and sound in his own kennel until you let him out.

All in all kennels are great for providing safety and comfort for your lovable pet. When buying a kennel consider buying their added features like a Sun Block Top to keep your pet out of the hot sun and anchor kit to keep your dog pen from being moved or blown over. Large dogs can easily go under and lift up the kennel if it isn't anchored down. And it can also get blown over in terrible weather allowing for your pet to escape. The Sun Block Top is great for keeping the sun off and rain off your pet, it is an important part of owning a dog kennel.

!±8± Puppy Pictures and Puppy Albums

Most people who have pets at home actually get so much attached to them that they are considered more of a family member than just a mere pet. For once, most dog owners actually treat their dogs very well from the time that it is still a puppy until they grow with them. For others, they go beyond the basic care of their pets and they even take pictures of their pets and compile them in an album so they could do something to preserve the memories of their pets and share their joys even to the next generation.

Taking puppy pictures is something that you might have also considered in the past. Just imagine the joy of having a compiled album where you can see your pet, capture your happy moments with them and watch their growth. If that sparks your interest and that makes you want to start one, then continue reading this article since this can be helpful for those who may want to start an album filled with puppy pictures.

For example, what does your pet do when they are hungry? What do they do to grab your attention? What is their favorite toy? How do they react to strangers? When you know the answer to all of those questions in advance, you can be sure that you will be prepared to take their puppy pictures when an opportunity for it arises. It is always fun to take their pictures as they go about their daily routines and even to capture their funny habits on pictures sometimes. Knowing their behavior and routine makes you anticipate their moves really. Take puppy pictures of your pet while they sleep, run, play, eat and many other activities.

Aside from that, you also have to be aware that you have to give some attention as well when it comes to the technical aspects of handling and operating a camera. Get the proper settings ready so you could have quality results in the end. It is a good thing to use a typical point and shoot digital camera since you won't have to worry about bad shots you have taken since you can always delete them. With that, you can choose the best puppy pictures and throw away those that you think you won't need anymore. You may also keep those puppy pictures that aren't the best shots but still looks appealing enough for safe-keeping and put it elsewhere.

Now while there are those types of people who would want to include their family pictures in their family albums, there are also those who prefer having an album that will exclusively have their puppy pictures. In the end, it is all a matter of personal choice and it is up to you to decide. Either which of the choices you choose, it is indeed important to have those puppy pictures taken and preserved so you could somehow keep the memory of the pets you love.

How to Keep Your Dog Safe With a Wireless Pet Fence

!±8± How to Keep Your Dog Safe With a Wireless Pet Fence

It is very important to train pet dogs effectively and this training should start from when the dog is as young as five or six months old. If one does not have enough time to devote daily to training his own dog, it is a god idea to hire a personal trainer to do the work. However, monitoring the dog's movement continuously through the house can only be done by the family living with it.

The wireless pet fence, first known of in the 1970's, is a device created to monitor the dog's movements throughout the house, while trying to teach him which areas are allowed for it to roam in and which is out of bounds.

A wireless pet fence consists of a transmitter placed at a convenient central point of the house and a lightweight electronic dog collar placed around the dog's neck. Once the transmitter is switched on, it sends radio waves into the air to monitor the dog's movement. The collar is waterproof and comes with a receiver containing a battery that needs to be attached to it so that the transmitter can detect it through the radio waves. Once the dog is wearing the collar which has been set at the required frequency, the transmitter checks its movement. If the dog comes too close to the invisible boundary set by the particular frequency, first a warning beeper goes off, and if it is too close to the boundary a trigger in the form of a mild shock is sent to the dog. This makes the dog realize he is approaching restricted areas.

In the beginning, along with the wireless pet fence set up visual boundaries in the form of colored flags should also be placed. This helps the dog associate the restricted areas with the flagged boundary. After wearing the electronic collar and being monitored by the beeps and shocks pets automatically recognize which areas are allowed from them, and which are not. Also, the owner should associate the boundary with an invisible gate for the dog. For example, every time the dog crosses the front gate, his owner should take the collar off so that the transmitter cannot detect its movement. Again, when the dog returns home and crosses the gate, the collar is put on. But at any other time if it tries to cross the front gate, the collar will beep and send shockwaves restricting its movements immediately. Soon it will realize that the gate is open when the collar is off and vice versa.

Wireless pet fences are preferred to ordinary wooden or metal fences because of their "invisibility" factor. The shocks are surprising yet harmless for the animal. After a few months of continuous training with it, the dog doesn't even go beyond the warning beep. In this way the owner can train the dog for his pooping and peeing activities, eating, sleeping and even playing areas without disturbing the neighbors or ruining the furniture.
